Non-local pregnant women's obstetric services bookings at public hospitals will be suspended next year, the Hospital Authority announced today.
The arrangement was introduced in 2012 to ensure service priority for local mothers.
The authority forecasts about 38,950 and 39,210 deliveries in 2014 and 2015, and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit occupancy rates of 106% and 107%.
A shortfall of medical and nursing staff next year is also expected.
