The Centre for Food Safety has recalled a batch of Pura slim milk imported from Australia detected to have a high bacterial count.
The one-litre product’s expiry date is March 31, and was available for sale at retail outlets and supermarket chains.
A sample of the milk had a bacterial count of 130 million per millilitre, exceeding the legal limit of 30,000 per millilitre.
The importer has recalled the product and two others manufactured at the same factory - Pura Fresh Australian Milk and Pura Hi-Lo High Calcium Low Fat Milk Drink.
The centre has asked Australian authorities to investigate the case. It will monitor the recall.
