The Agriculture, Fisheries & Conservation Department will hold a dog-inoculation campaign at seven major fishing ports from today until January 24.
Fishermen can have their dogs vaccinated against rabies, microchipped, and have the animals' licences renewed.
Mobile vaccination teams will visit Aberdeen on January 9, Sam Mun Tsai on January 14 and 15, Shau Kei Wan on January 16, Sai Kung on January 17, Castle Peak on January 21 and 22, Sha Tau Kok on January 23, and Cheung Chau on January 24.
The teams will visit the ports from 10am to 3pm. A fee of $80 will be charged for each dog. To date, more than 7,200 vaccinations have been given to dogs under the campaign.
The dogs must be revaccinated against rabies and have their licences renewed every three years; their keepers are liable to a maximum fine of $10,000 for not doing so.
