Hongkong Post has launched a photo competition, to promote nine vintage post boxes' restoration.
The boxes are in far-flung locations throughout Hong Kong, from Central to the outlying islands. Click
here for location details. Their restoration was completed in mid-October. Eight were made during the reign of George V and George VI, while the other was made during the reign of Elizabeth II and is the only remaining oval-shaped post box still in service in Hong Kong.
Photo competition participants can submit up to three photos featuring the boxes by
email before November 27. The top 10 selected photos will be shared on the programme's Facebook promotion page from December 9 until January 8, and the photo which receives the most "likes" during this time will win a new camera.
Hongkong Post will also launch a new souvenir on December 25 – a limited collection set of all nine vintage post box replicas in a special display case. Only 400 sets will be available, at $1,088.
Advanced orders can be made from now until December 24 at
ShopThruPost or at any PostShop outlet. Individual vintage post box figurines in stand-alone display cases will also be available at $168 each from December 25.
