'HK: Our Home' to feature recycling race

Over 100 secondary school students will join the Hong Kong Race on Plastics Separation 2013 on August 23 at the Yan Oi Tong EcoPark Plastic Resources Recycling Centre in Tuen Mun.
 
A highlight event of the "Hong Kong: Our Home" Campaign this week, students will race to separate different types of plastics, and will use plastic waste to create attractive art works.
 
Other events of the campaign include the Methodist Centre’s upcoming Super Star Talent Show on August 25 from 2 to 4pm, which showcases a new generation of talented entertainers.
 
A stage underneath the flyover of Canal Road West in Wan Chai will give young performers an opportunity to gain live performance experience.
 
Also, the Pok Oi Hospital Children & Families Service will hold the Parent-child Summer Camp at the Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups Jockey Club Sai Kung Outdoor Training Camp in Tai Mong Tsai on August 25 from 9am to 4pm.
 
The camp, for parents with children aged 4 to 9, aims to enhance parent-child communication and family harmony. The enrolment deadline is August 21.
 
On August 24 and 25, Tai Po Mega Mall will support "Kids Helping Kids" - Toys & Stationery Charity Donation Campaign to help children in need through the Boys' & Girls' Clubs Association of Hong Kong.
 
The event will start at 1pm on August 24. A charity sale with items from $10 will raise money to help children pay for music lessons, art classes and other extra-curricular activities.
