Saudi Middle East cases monitored

The Department of Health is monitoring three additional cases of Middle East Respiratory Syndrome that Saudi Arabia reported to the World Health Organisation.
 
Those affected include a 63-year-old woman with underlying illnesses, a 75-year-old man with underlying illnesses, and a 21-year-old man who has died.
 
This brings the latest global number of confirmed cases of Middle East Respiratory Syndrome to 58, including 33 deaths.
 
The Centre for Health Protection will continue to work with the WHO and overseas health authorities to monitor developments.
 
No human infection with this virus has been identified in Hong Kong.
