Free tram and ferry rides, and health talks are among activities to be staged under the "Hong Kong: Our Home" campaign.
People in Hong Kong - visitors and residents - will be able to enjoy free tram rides on Hong Kong and ferry rides on two ferry routes running between Tsim Sha Tsui and Central and Tsim Sha Tsui and Wan Chai, on the HKGCC Free Ride Day on May 29.
Activities organised for Family Health Month 2013 will run from June 1 to 15 at the Hospital Authority Building, where health talks, in Cantonese only, have been scheduled for June 1 and 15. The topics will cover health issues including how pollution can affect your health, and allergic rhinitis or asthma.
People who attend the talks will have the chance to win free check-ups in lucky draws at the end of each talk. The prizes are free bone density X-ray tests, gynaecology tests and Chinese medical body check-ups.
The Social Inclusion Community Arts Project will hold its closing ceremony with a carnival on June 1 at the Discovery Park Shopping Centre. It will open with a fashion show featuring designs by ethnic minority designers, followed by songs and dances, theatrical sketches, and a performance by local pop group Super Girls.
The Hong Kong Jockey Club, a campaign partner organisation, will stage the "Hong Kong: Our Home" Cup at the Sha Tin Racecourse on June 2. Four title races - the Vibrant Hong Kong Handicap, the Hip Hong Kong Handicap, the Caring Hong Kong Handicap and the Fresh Hong Kong Handicap - will be held.
Other activities include the final for the Tomorrow Star Singing Contest and the International Children's Day Carnival in Tin Shui Wai on June 1, the Rice Dumplings Giving Day in Tai Po on June 1, and the Mui Wo Dragon Boat Race 2013 on June 2.
