More than 350,000 flowering plants will be displayed at the flower show in Victoria Park from March 15 to 24, from 9am to 9pm daily.
Kaleidoscope of Spring is the theme of the show, and dendrobium is the theme flower. About 10,000 dendrobiums will be on display.
More than 200 organisations from Hong Kong, the Mainland and overseas will showcase potted plants, floral arrangements and landscape displays.
The dendrobium, a genus of perennials from the orchid family, is found throughout Asia, Australia, New Guinea and New Zealand, from tropical forests to the Himalayan highlands. There are approximately 1,200 species of dendrobium orchids worldwide.
The flower has many colours, ranging from yellow, white, orange, yellow-green and pink to purple-red.
The show will also feature music and cultural performances, floral art demonstrations, cooking demonstrations, plant maintenance workshops, green stalls, guided visits, recreation programmes and games. Commercial stalls will sell flowers, horticultural products and fast food.
