To celebrate the Spring Lantern Festival, the Leisure & Cultural Services Department will hold lantern carnivals at Tsing Yi Park, Fanling Recreation Ground, and the Cultural Centre Piazza from February 22 to 24.
Apart from colourful lantern installations, the carnivals will feature folk music, dances, crafts, and puppetry, and a demonstration of traditional Cantonese opera make-up application and costuming.
Meanwhile, the Heritage Museum will host the Intangible Cultural Heritage - Exhibition on Craftsmanship of Lantern Making at the Cultural Centre Piazza from tomorrow until March 3.
It features a five-level giant revolving lantern, about nine metres high and handcrafted by local master artisans.
Also at the Cultural Centre Piazza, the Treasures Fill the City show will feature lanterns resembling the gods of fortune until March 17.
