Welcoming the Year of the Snake

February 08, 2013
As Hong Kong prepares to usher in the Year of the Snake, shoppers flock to traditional flower markets before the Lunar New Year, enjoying a festive atmosphere.

The largest market, in Victoria Park, offers a variety of products - from flowers to ornaments and treats - to attract good fortune. Not surprisingly, snake-themed items are especially popular.

At the Cultural Centre Piazza in Tsim Sha Tsui, the Lunar New Year lantern display, Treasures Fill The City, is designed to bestow good health, prosperity and happiness on visitors who come to bask in their glow.
