Secretary for Development Carrie Lam spoke on the Government's efforts and achievements in preserving and revitalising Hong Kong's historic buildings over the past five years, at a presentation in Singapore today.
She introduced major projects in Hong Kong, including Conserving Central, and the Revitalising Historic Buildings Through Partnership Scheme, at the presentation.
She also highlighted the need to respect property rights in dealing with privately owned historic buildings, quoting the use of land exchange to preserve the historic mansion King Yin Lei.
Mrs Lam then met Singaporean officials and toured the Singapore City Gallery at the Urban Redevelopment Authority Centre, and visited the Civil Service College.
