Boy treated for infection

The Centre for Health Protection's Public Health Laboratory Services Branch has identified a case of New Delhi metallo-beta-lactamase Carbapenemase producing Enterobacteriaceae in an 11-month-old boy.
 
He lives in Dongguan on the Mainland. He fell ill in mid-April and was admitted to a hospital in Dongguan.
 
He has since been admitted to Tuen Mun Hospital and tested positive for NDM Carbapenemase producing Enterobacteriaceae.
 
He is stable. His home contacts have no symptoms.
 
It is the seventh case of the disease in Hong Kong.
