Legionella contamination confirmed
January 02, 2012
The Centre for Health Protection today confirmed Legionella bacteria was found in the water tap in Secretary for Education Michael Suen's office.
The centre has advised the building's management office to conduct disinfection and risk mitigation measures. It will collect post-disinfection water samples tomorrow.
No Legionella bacteria was detected in water samples taken from the building's water tank, suggesting the water source is free from contamination.
Water samples taken at Mr Suen's residence were all negative for Legionella bacteria.
