Chinese drug recalled

September 01, 2011
The Department of Health today ordered licensed proprietary Chinese medicines wholesaler Wah Shun Medicine to recall its ChuFengT’ouKu Wan product (registration number: HKP-01517) as it has been found to be tainted with paracetamol.

The product, manufactured on the Mainland, is for use by adults for improving blood circulation and for bone pain.

The department has referred the case to Mainland authorities.

Wah Shun is also suspending the sale of related product Kong Kwood Sun Wan (registration number: HKP-02392), which has an identical herbal formula and the same Mainland manufacturer. It has set up a hotline, 2571 0775, for enquiries.
