More aid for welfare recipients
June 29, 2011
A one-off additional payment will be made to recipients of Comprehensive Social Security Assistance, the Disability Allowance and Old Age Allowance on July 5.
The amount of the one-off additional payment for CSSA recipients is equivalent to one month's standard rate while that for Disability Allowance and Old Age Allowance recipients equals one month's allowance.
The Social Welfare Department today said the move is part of a package of relief measures to ease the impact of inflation on people's livelihood, as the Financial Secretary announced in his Budget speech on February 23.
