HK wins 8 more medals

Secretary for Home Affairs Tsang Tak-sing congratulated Hong Kong athletes for winning two gold, two silver and four bronze medals in the Guangzhou Asian Para Games today.

 

“Our athletes demonstrated unswerving efforts and exemplary sportsmanship in the competitions today to capture eight more medals. I encourage them to strive for excellence in the forthcoming events,” he said.

 

The gold medal came from wheelchair fencer Chan Yui-chong in the women’s individual foil category B and Yu Kwong-wah in the men’s badminton singles.

 

Winning silver were sprinter So Wa-wai (men’s 200m) and Chung Ting-ching (men’s wheelchair fencing individual epee Category B).

 

Sprinter Yu Chun-lai won a bronze in the women’s 100m, while the wheelchair fencing team took three bronze medals - Tam Chik-sum in the men’s individual epee Category B, and Fan Pui-shan and Yu Chui-yee in women’s individual foil Category A.
