Tin Shui Wai Hospital will open in mid-2016 with up to 300 beds for in-patient services.
Secretary for Food & Health Dr York Chow told legislators today the hospital will have an accident and emergency department, ambulatory services, a general out-patient clinic, a haemodialysis centre, a geriatric day hospital and a psychiatric day hospital.
Based on the projected population growth in the New Territories West Cluster, Dr Chow said the total number of beds within the cluster upon completion of the new hospital will meet demand. More beds will also be provided at Pok Oi Hospital in phases, and there will be a new integrated building in Tin Shui Wai Area 109, scheduled to come into full operation in 2012-13, to provide a general out-patient clinic, a family medicine integrated clinic, visiting services by community nurses and community psychiatric nurses.
