June property sales down 24.5%

The Land Registry recorded 6,033 sale and purchase agreements for all building units in June, down 0.5% on May, and down 24.5% year-on-year.

 

The 12-month moving average for June was 4,925, which was 3.2% below the 12-month moving average for May and 35% below that for June 2015.

 

The total consideration for sale and purchase agreements in June was $39.7 billion, down 18.5% on May and down 33.5% year-on-year.

 

Among the sale and purchase agreements, 4,620 were for residential units, up 0.7% on the previous month but down 20% year-on-year.

 

The total consideration for residential units was $32.6 billion, down 20.3% compared with May and 24.6% less year-on-year.

 

The public made 400,018 land register searches during the month.
