Wine customs deal expanded

(November 05, 2015)

The customs facilitation measures for wine entering the Mainland through Hong Kong have been extended from designated ports in Guangzhou and Shenzhen to all ports in the Beijing, Shanghai, Tianjin, Guangzhou and Shenzhen regions.

Under the measures, which were enhanced in September 2014, Hong Kong registered wine exporters submitting advance wine consignment information online may enjoy instant customs clearance at the Mainland ports concerned.

Secretary for Commerce & Economic Development Gregory So today said the measures underline Hong Kong's position as a wine hub.

"The extension of the measures from Guangzhou and Shenzhen to the customs regions of Beijing, Shanghai and Tianjin will help wine from all over the world enter the northern China market and consolidate there," Mr So said.
