Hong Kong and the state of South Australia today signed a memorandum of understanding on tourism co-operation.

Hong Kong Economic & Trade Office in Sydney Director Arthur Au and a South Australian Tourism Commission Board Director Jane Jeffreys signed the deal in front of Secretary for Commerce & Economic Development Gregory So and South Australia Governor Hieu Van Le at a ceremony in Adelaide.

After the signing, Mr So attended a lunch hosted by South Australia Premier Jay Weatherill, and officiated at an eye-dotting ceremony and reception co-hosted by the OzAsia Festival and the Hong Kong Economic & Trade Office in Sydney.

He then spoke at the Hong Kong-Australia Business Association (South Australia Chapter) Business Awards gala dinner, where he noted that the potential investment from Mainland China to Australia through Hong Kong could be enormous.

Mr So added that Hong Kong and South Australia have long been close wine trade partners, noting that Hong Kong accounted for 8% of South Australia's wine exports in 2014.
