Financial Secretary John Tsang has called on investors to be vigilant amid the current upsurge in the stock market.
Speaking to reporters at the airport today, Mr Tsang said there are various reasons behind the surge and it is not useful to speculate on the source of capital.
The important thing is that investors stay vigilant to the risks brought by the market volatility and think carefully before making investment decisions, he added.
On the upcoming second reading of the Budget at the Legislative Council, he said any delay in implementing the Budget relief measures will impact the public and he called for legislators to think carefully before resorting to filibustering tactics.
