FS hails industrious enterprises

Fifty-five companies were honoured today at the 2012 Hong Kong Awards for Industries presentation ceremony cum gala dinner. The award recognises the outstanding achievements of Hong Kong enterprises in pursuit of high technology and high value-added activities.
Financial Secretary John Tsang officiated at the ceremony at the Convention & Exhibition Centre. He said the awards provide an ideal platform for the entrepreneurs to showcase their strengths in the development, design, and application of technology.
He said the Government is committed to supporting the manufacturers and service providers.
"Since my Budget in February this year, we have deployed a range of measures to help companies, especially SMEs, remain ahead of the game. More than 20 schemes and programmes are in place to support Hong Kong enterprises in the areas of product and service R&D, market development, creativity and design, financing, environmental management, and training," he said.
The awards covers six categories, namely consumer product design, machinery and machine tools design, customer service, innovation and creativity, productivity and quality, and technological achievement. A total of 204 entries were received.
The Grand Award winners were Oregon Scientific Global Distribution, L.K. Technology Holdings, the Hongkong & Shanghai Banking Corporation - Retail Banking & Wealth Management, the Bank of East Asia, Elegance Industrial, and nwStor.
