KC Chan to attend financial symposium

Secretary for Financial Services & the Treasury Prof KC Chan will leave for Shanghai tomorrow to attend the High-Level Regional Financial Sector Assessment Programme Outreach Symposium jointly organised by the International Monetary Fund and the People's Bank of China.
 
Prof Chan will speak at a session entitled "New International Regulatory & Supervisory Standards - Their Role in Addressing Systemic Risks?".
 
Apart from meeting with IMF and Mainland officials, he will meet with regulators and leaders from the financial and economic sectors of the region to exchange views on global finance. The symposium will be held at the InterContinental Shanghai Expo hotel.
 
He will also chair the roundtable discussion at a session entitled "Macroprudential Policy - What Are the Implementation Issues?" before returning to Hong Kong.
