The first batch of Scheme $6,000 registrants, born in 1946 or before, will receive notification from today to collect their cheque in two weeks.
The Financial Services & the Treasury Bureau said other batches who registered through Hongkong Post before November 5 will be notified later this month or next month.
Fifty-six post offices across Hong Kong - except those in Cheung Chau, Peng Chau, Lamma Island, Tai O, Mui Wo and Discovery Bay - will extend office hours to 5pm on five Saturdays - November 19 and 26, and December 3, 10 and 17 so the cheques can be collected.
Cheques will be available at the post offices for up to one year.
