The Environmental Protection Department recorded 30 convictions for pollution offences in November.

Nine were for air pollution, seven for noise, 13 for waste disposal and one for water pollution offences.

The heaviest fine handed down in the month was $120,000 assessed against a company that used powered mechanical equipment breaching permit conditions.
