Secretary for the Environment KS Wong said the tariff cuts proposed by Hong Kong's two power companies today are acceptable.

HK Electric and CLP Power will reduce their charges by 1.1% and 0.9% next year.

Mr Wong told the media that though fuel prices have been falling, the use of natural gas by the companies has increased their costs.
