The Council for Sustainable Development today launched
Carbon Manager, an online calculation system which assesses energy consumption and carbon emissions.
Council Chairman Bernard Chan said Carbon Manager will help the public understand their energy consumption patterns and carbon emission levels, so they can reduce energy use.
He called on trades and industries to conduct energy and carbon audits to assess their consumption and emissions, and to take mitigating measures.
The manager has been developed by the Productivity Council. It is tailor-made for core building user groups in Hong Kong, including households, offices, retail and catering.
Carbon Manager requires users to input data for calculating their carbon footprint and assessing their energy consumption, to provide energy saving and carbon reduction recommendations.
