Chief Secretary Carrie Lam today paid tribute to former Council of Social Service Director Hui Yin-fat who died from illness.
                                                 
                                                Mrs Lam said Mr Hui was dedicated in promoting the development of social welfare services and made important contributions to making Hong Kong a more caring society.
                                                 
                                                Mrs Lam said she worked closely with Mr Hui during her tenure as Director of Social Welfare, and regarded him as a friend and teacher.
                                                 
                                                Mr Hui also served on the Executive Council, the Legislative Council and the Elderly Commission.
                                                 
                                                "The passing of Mr Hui is a tremendous loss to Hong Kong society," Mrs Lam said, offering her condolences to his family.
                                                 
                                                Secretary for Labour & Welfare Matthew Cheung also praised Mr Hui for his significant contribution to the Hong Kong community.
