CE hopeful for democrat permits

Chief Executive CY Leung says he hopes the pan-democrats, including those on the Legislative Council, can be issued the Mainland Travel Permit for Hong Kong & Macau Residents soon, allowing them to visit the Mainland to promote friendly exchanges.
 
Mr Leung made the comment today in response to suggestions the Central Government might soon allow the pro-democrats to apply for the permits.
 
He said he has always encouraged, and even organised, Mainland visits by different sectors of the community.
