Secretary for Justice Rimsky Yuen and Secretary for Security TK Lai will meet with Central Government officials in Beijing tomorrow to discuss the notification mechanism between Hong Kong and the Mainland.
Chief Executive CY Leung announced the move today, saying the Hong Kong officials will be briefed on the running of the notification mechanism in relation to the detention of Lam Wing-kee and a murder suspect.
Noting the Central Government reacted positively to Hong Kong's request for a review, he said it is time to take a comprehensive look at the mechanism which has been in place for about 10 years.
Messrs Yuen and Lai will return from Beijing after the meeting and brief the media the following morning. They will be joined by the Police, Immigration and the Customs & Excise departments.
