Chief Executive CY Leung met CPC Zhuhai Municipal Committee Secretary Li Jia in Zhuhai today.
During the meeting, Mr Leung noted the travel time from Hong Kong's airport to Zhuhai will drop to 15 minutes when the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge opens, which will boost the development of both cities.
He said the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government will focus its energy on developing the economy and improving people's livelihood over the next two years, adding there will be many co-operation opportunities between the two cities.
Mr Li said Zhuhai has benefited from Hong Kong investment in the past 30 years, and hopes the opening of the bridge brings closer ties between Hong Kong, Macau and Zhuhai.
