New permanent secretary appointed

New appointment

New appointment:  Permanent Secretary for Development (Planning & Lands) Thomas Chow will assume the post of Permanent Secretary for the Civil Service.

Permanent Secretary for Development (Planning & Lands) Thomas Chow will assume the post of Permanent Secretary for the Civil Service on September 14, the Government announced today.

 

He will succeed Raymond Wong, who is retiring after 35 years of service.

 

Secretary for the Civil Service Paul Tang said Mr Chow is a seasoned Administrative Officer with rich experience in public administration and proven leadership and management skills that will enable him to serve the community with professionalism and dedication in his new capacity.

 

Mr Chow, 55, joined the Government in 1984 and was promoted to Administrative Officer Staff Grade A1 in April 2011. He has been Permanent Secretary for Development (Planning & Lands) since 2009.
