Chief Executive CY Leung will visit Toronto and Chicago from June 8 to 11 to promote Hong Kong and meet political and business leaders.
In Toronto he will speak at the Trade Development Council's Think Asia, Think Hong Kong symposium, meet Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne, and attend a breakfast seminar hosted by the Canadian business sector.
He will also speak at the same symposium in Chicago, meet the National US Hong Kong Business Association and call on Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel.
He will meet the University of Chicago's President Prof Robert J Zimmer and Dean of its Booth School of Business Prof Sunil Kumar.
Chief Secretary Carrie Lam will be Acting Chief Executive during his absence.
