CS to visit Europe

Chief Secretary Carrie Lam will visit Brussels, Dublin, Rome and Venice from May 3 to 9.

 

On arrival in Europe, Mrs Lam will also stop briefly in Amsterdam to meet Hong Kong people living in the Netherlands.

 

In Brussels she will meet Belgian officials, European Commission officials and European Parliament members. She will also speak at a business luncheon and visit a cluster for creative industries.

 

In Dublin she will meet officials and visit an information and communication technology facility. She will also speak at Trinity College Dublin and at a business dinner co-hosted by the Hong Kong Economic & Trade Office.

 

In Rome she will meet government officials and parliament members.

 

She will then officiate at the opening ceremony of the Hong Kong Pavilion at the Venice Biennale, and meet with the organiser to exchange experiences in art development. She will also meet representatives of the Veneto Region Government and officiate at a dinner with the international art community.

 

She will return to Hong Kong on May 10. During her absence, Secretary for Home Affairs Tsang Tak-sing will act as Chief Secretary.
