Media assault condemned

Chief Executive CY Leung has condemned the attack on journalists last night, saying the Government respects press freedom.
 
The Chief Executive's Office issued a statement today in response to the incident which saw several journalists assaulted while reporting.
 
"The Chief Executive and the SAR Government all along respect press freedom and strongly condemn this savage act. The Police will follow up on the incident in a serious manner," it said.
