Government values integrity: CE
April 26, 2013
Chief Executive CY Leung said the Government has strictly adhered to the principles of honesty, integrity and simplicity in the nine months since its inauguration. He stressed the importance of the Independent Commission Against Corruption's work in maintaining Hong Kong’s core values, and called on everyone to support its work.
Mr Leung today told reporters in Beijing that it would not be fair for him to comment on allegations against a former ICAC Commissioner based only on reports in the media. He also noted that the Legislative Council's Public Accounts Committee will look into the matter.
He said the principles the incumbent Government upholds are evident in the class of air tickets purchased for Government officials, the practice of not accepting gifts when attending functions, and not exchanging gifts, as far as possible.
