Nominations for the Hong Kong & Kowloon District Councils Subsector and the New Territories District Councils Subsector for the 2011 Election Committee Subsector Elections will start tomorrow and run until November 24.
A nominee must be an elected District Council member whose term of office will start on January 1. Details are set out in section 17 and sections 18, 18A and 18C of the Schedule to the Chief Executive Election Ordinance.
A nomination form must be subscribed by no less than five voters registered for the District Councils subsector concerned. District Council members newly elected this month have been registered automatically as voters for the District Councils subsectors.
If an elected District Council member has earlier nominated candidates in the non-District Council subsectors, they can no longer nominate a candidate in the District Councils subsectors.
If they have been nominated as a candidate in the non-District Council subsectors, they cannot accept nomination in the District Councils subsectors.
The completed nomination form and an election deposit of $1,000 must be submitted by the nominee in person to the Returning Officer within the nomination period. Nominations are accepted between 9am and 5pm from Monday to Friday and from 9am to noon on Saturday during the nomination period.

Nomination forms can be downloaded from the election website or are available at District Offices, the offices of the Returning Officers and the Registration & Electoral Office in Harbour Centre, Wan Chai.
For the Hong Kong & Kowloon District Councils Subsector and the New Territories District Councils Subsector, a poll will be held on December 11 if there is a contested election.
