446 COVID-19 cases recorded

The Centre for Health Protection today said it is investigating 446 additional COVID-19 cases, of which 176 were detected by nucleic acid tests and 270 were identified via rapid antigen tests.

 

Among the new cases, 64 are imported while the rest are locally infected.

 

Since the onset of the fifth wave of the epidemic, 1,202,007 people have contracted the virus and 9,169 people passed away.

 

Of the newly reported cases, regarding the bar clusters in Central, Zentral bar registered two more cases and Iron Fairies & J. Boroski recorded three more. While there were 44 additional cases for LINQ bar, Shuffle bar registered a further 27 cases.

 

Separately, the Government made a restriction-testing declaration to cover Block 6 of Richland Gardens in Kowloon Bay. People in the restricted area are required to undergo compulsory testing before the specified deadline.

 

Due to a number of positive cases, 46 specified places are included in a compulsory testing notice.

 

The Government will reopen the mobile specimen collection station at Wah Fu (II) Estate in Pok Fu Lam tomorrow and the service period of the mobile specimen collection station at Bellagio in Sham Tseng will be extended to June 6.

 

As there were positive sewage test results with relatively high viral loads at Shun Tin Estate in Kwun Tong and Tung Tau (II) Estate in Wong Tai Sin, the Housing Department and the respective district office will distribute COVID-19 rapid test kits to relevant residents as well as cleaning workers and property management staff working there.
