March 15, 2022

The Centre for Health Protection today said it is looking into 27,765 additional COVID-19 cases, of which 11,956 were detected by nucleic acid tests and 15,809 were identified via rapid antigen tests.

Among the cases which tested positive by nucleic acid tests, four are imported and the rest are locally acquired.

The centre added that a total of 4,355 death cases have been recorded since the fifth wave of the epidemic, among which 289 are newly reported.

Meanwhile, the Government made restriction-testing declarations to cover designated buildings where sewage samples tested positive for the virus.

The buildings include Hang Chun House of Cheung Hang Estate in Tsing Yi, Tip Ling House of Butterfly Estate in Tuen Mun, Sin Sam House of Lung Hang Estate in Sha Tin, Lai Kuk House of Lai Kok Estate in Sham Shui Po, Fu Yuen House of Chuk Yuen (South) Estate in Wong Tai Sin and Tin Chu House of Shun Tin Estate in Kwun Tong.

People in the restricted areas must undergo compulsory testing before the specified deadline.

As there were positive sewage test results in several housing estates and buildings in Tsuen Wan, Central & Western, Sai Kung and Kwai Tsing districts, the district offices will distribute COVID-19 rapid test kits to relevant residents as well as cleaning workers and property management staff working in those areas from tomorrow.

The Government will also set up or reopen mobile specimen collection stations at Kwai Chung San Kui Park and Tung Chung Road Soccer Pitch starting tomorrow.
