HK reports 1 more imported case

The Centre for Health Protection today said it is investigating one additional imported COVID-19 case involving the L452R mutant strain.

 

The new case is the preliminary positive case reported yesterday.

 

The 53-year-old male patient is a cargo flight crew member who arrived from Germany. He underwent compulsory testing in accordance with relevant exemption requirements for air crew members. His sample collected at a community testing centre tested positive for COVID-19.

 

In view of one imported case and one preliminary imported case who had stayed in Hong Kong during the incubation period, six specified premises are included in the compulsory testing notice.

 

The Government will set up a mobile specimen collection station at the loading bay between Tower 5 and Tower 6, Level 1 Carpark, Rambler Crest in Tsing Yi to provide free testing service for people subject to compulsory testing.

 

A total of 35 cases were reported in Hong Kong in the past 14 days, all of which are imported.
