1 imported COVID-19 case reported

November 7, 2021

The Centre for Health Protection announced today there is a newly reported COVID-19 imported case involving the mutant strain L452R.

The 56-year-old man arrived in Hong Kong from the United Kingdom and tested positive during quarantine.

Meanwhile, the centre received update from the Singaporean health authority that one confirmed case which was earlier reported to Hong Kong has been retested as false positive.

The case, announced on October 31, involved an 18-year-old man who lives at Ching Tak House, Tsz Ching Estate in Tsz Wan Shan.

As he is not classified as a case of COVID-19 infection, his close contacts have been released from the quarantine centre.

A total of 48 cases were reported in Hong Kong in the past 14 days, all of which are imported.
