November 2, 2021

The Centre for Health Protection today said it is investigating two additional imported COVID-19 cases, with both of them coming from high-risk places and involving the L452R mutant strain.

One of the patients is a 29-year-old man who arrived in Hong Kong from the Philippines and tested positive during quarantine. The other patient is a 37-year-old woman who arrived from Spain via Greece, Portugal and Turkey, and tested positive upon arrival at the airport.

The centre reminded specified people linked to Tower 1, Grand Promenade in Sai Wan Ho to undergo testing tomorrow in accordance with the compulsory testing notice.

In view of a preliminary positive imported case who had stayed in Hong Kong during the incubation period, five specified premises are included in the compulsory testing notice.

Additionally, four schools are covered in the compulsory testing notice due to an outbreak of upper respiratory tract infection or influenza-like illness.

Mobile specimen collection stations will be set up in various districts tomorrow to provide free service for those subject to compulsory testing.

A total of 48 cases were reported in Hong Kong in the past 14 days, all of which are imported.
