2 imported COVID-19 cases found

October 28, 2021

The Centre for Health Protection today said it is investigating two additional imported COVID-19 cases, one of which involves a mutant strain, while the mutation test result of the other case remains pending.

One of the patients is a 57-year-old woman who arrived in Hong Kong from Myanmar via South Korea while the other one is a 58-year-old man who arrived from Belgium. They both tested positive upon arrival at the airport.

The centre reminded specified people linked to Graceful Mansion (Block H2), Siena Two in Discovery Bay to undergo testing tomorrow in accordance with the compulsory testing notice.

The mobile specimen collection station at the open area outside Graceful Mansion will continue to operate tomorrow to provide free testing for people subject to compulsory testing.

Three schools are covered in the compulsory testing notice due to an outbreak of upper respiratory tract infection or influenza-like illness. People who have been fully vaccinated can be exempted.

A total of 60 cases were reported in Hong Kong in the past 14 days, all of which are imported.
