The Centre for Health Protection today said it is investigating eight additional imported COVID-19 cases involving patients who arrived from the Czech Republic, the US, the Philippines, the Maldives and Spain.

The centre is also investigating an overseas case involving a 19-year-old female who lives at Suet Fung House, Fung Tak Estate in Diamond Hill. She had received two doses of the BioNTech vaccine on April 30 and May 21 in Hong Kong.

Her sample collected on September 14 tested negative in Hong Kong. She travelled to the UK on September 16 on British Airways flight BA028.

Her specimen collected in the UK on September 19 tested positive and she was asymptomatic.

The patient works at 24/F, Wing On House, 71 Des Voeux Road Central in Central and last went to work on September 10.

She also participated in a camping activity from September 5 to 6 at the Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups - Jockey Club Sai Kung Outdoor Training Camp at Tai Mong Tsai in Sai Kung.

Epidemiological investigations and contact tracing are underway.

The places where the patient stayed ie Suet Fung House and Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups - Jockey Club Sai Kung Outdoor Training Camp as well as her workplace in Hong Kong during the incubation period are included in the compulsory testing notice.

The Government will set up a mobile specimen collection station at Fung Tak Estate Community Centre, Fung Tak Estate in Diamond Hill tomorrow to provide a free service for people subject to compulsory testing.

Specified people linked to Amber Garden, 110 Blue Pool Road in Happy Valley are reminded to get tested tomorrow in accordance with a compulsory testing notice.

A total of 43 cases were reported in Hong Kong in the past 14 days, all of which are imported.
