4 imported COVID-19 cases detected

August 3, 2021

The Centre for Health Protection today said it is investigating four additional COVID-19 cases involving a woman who arrived from Greece and two men and one woman who arrived from Turkey.

As Turkish Airlines flight TK083 from Istanbul, Turkey, on August 1 had four passengers on board confirmed infected with COVID-19 by arrival testing, the Department of Health has prohibited the landing of the airline’s passenger flights from Istanbul from tomorrow to August 17.

Meanwhile, the centre reminded specified people linked to Tower 6 of Harbour Place in Hung Hom and Bohemian House in Sai Ying Pun to undergo testing tomorrow in accordance with the compulsory testing notice.

The Government will set up a mobile specimen collection station at the open space next to Tower 6 of Harbour Place tomorrow to provide a free testing service for residents and workers subject to compulsory testing.

A total of 32 cases were reported in Hong Kong in the past 14 days and all of them are imported.
