Secretary for Food & Health Sophia Chan today said the Government has prioritised three groups to undergo mandatory COVID-19 testing, including those with symptoms, elderly care home staff and taxi drivers.

At a media session, Prof Chan said the Government will issue directions for the mandatory testing of the three groups.

It is also considering providing a one-off subsidy to help the grassroots who test positive under the mandatory testing arrangement.

Prof Chan also said the Government will provide mobile specimen collection services at buildings and districts with COVID-19 outbreaks.

“We have also ramped up our testing capacity and set up four community testing centres, and also improved the accessibility of people getting tested - not only for the distribution of bottles, but also for getting tested in our centres,” she added.
