Free ferry services set

November 19, 2019

The Government today announced it will provide free ferry services between Hung Hom/Kowloon City and Wan Chai.

As the Cross-Harbour Tunnel cannot be reopened within a short period of time because of damage to its facilities, the Transport Department has arranged for the ferry services to start on November 20 with service hours from 7am to 7pm.

The special ferries will travel between Hung Hom (South) Ferry Pier and Wan Chai Public Pier (near Golden Bauhinia Square) and between Ma Tau Kok Public Pier in Kowloon City and Wan Chai Public Pier.

To meet the demand and provide passengers with one more option, franchised bus operators will arrange special departures at Kowloon City Ferry Pier Bus Terminus via the Eastern Harbour Crossing to Central.

The department has also co-ordinated with franchised bus operators to strengthen the frequency of routes operating via the Eastern Harbour Crossing and the Western Harbour Tunnel.
