Flu jab campaign set

October 17, 2019

The Government Vaccination Programme will provide free seasonal influenza vaccinations to eligible people from October 23.

Eligible groups under the programme include pregnant women and children aged 6 months to under 12 years who are receiving Comprehensive Social Security Assistance, people aged 65 or more attending public clinics, public or institutional healthcare workers, and poultry workers and pig farmers.

Additionally, enrolled private doctors can provide subsidised vaccinations to eligible groups in their clinics or provide outreach vaccination service under the Vaccination Subsidy Scheme which began on October 9. The subsidy for the flu jab under the scheme is $210 per dose for those eligible.

Free or subsidised pneumococcal vaccinations will continue to be provided under the Government Vaccination Programme and the Vaccination Subsidy Scheme.
