June exports dip 9%

The value of Hong Kong’s total exports decreased to $309.6 billion in June, down 9% on the same month last year, the Census & Statistics Department announced today.

 

The value of imports fell 7.5% to $364.8 billion in June.

 

A trade deficit of $55.2 billion, or 15.1% of the value of imports, was recorded in the month.

 

Comparing the second quarter this year with the preceding quarter on a seasonally adjusted basis, the value of exports decreased 0.3% while that of imports fell 0.5%.
