4 students win science medals

Brilliant biologists:

Hong Kong students win four medals at the International Biology Olympiad.

A team of four Hong Kong students has won four medals at the International Biology Olympiad in Szeged, Hungary.

 

It was the first time Hong Kong took part in the competition.

 

Li Yung-chi from Diocesan Boys' School won a gold medal.

 

Chow King-ngai from La Salle College and Wong Chi-ngai from St Paul's Co-educational College each clinched silver.

 

Bruce Chum from Hoi Ping Chamber of Commerce Secondary School received a bronze medal.

 

Secretary for Education Kevin Yeung congratulated the students on their remarkable performance, saying it is with great joy that the Hong Kong team has achieved good results in its first participation in the competition.

 

“It is believed that Hong Kong students can further broaden their horizons and pursue excellence through participating in these challenging learning activities.”

 

About 285 students from 73 countries and regions participated in the olympiad from July 14 to 20.
